About the Dyson V8 Cyclone Cordless Vacuum, Black
The Dyson V8 Cyclone is the newest version of Dyson's V8 cordless stick vacuum. Dyson says it delivers 30% more suction than earlier V8 models and up to 60 minutes of battery life.
It comes with two attachments. The Motorbar cleaner head covers larger areas of floor and removes hair without tangling, which makes it a practical choice for homes with pets. The crevice tool gets into tight spaces, and between the two you can clean floors, furniture, stairs and even the car. It also converts into a handheld vacuum for above-floor jobs.
It weighs about 6 lb and has a bagless bin. It suits households that want strong everyday cleaning around the home, especially where pet hair is a regular chore.
What reviewers say
Reviewers generally find the V8 Cyclone strong on carpets and pet hair, and they welcome the longer runtime and the simple one-press power button that replaces the older hold-down trigger. The most common criticisms are uneven pickup on hard floors with the main cleaner head, no battery screen (only a blinking light when charge runs low) and a fairly basic set of accessories in the box.
Pros
- Strong pickup of debris and pet hair on carpets
- Longer runtime than earlier V8 models
- One-press power button instead of a trigger you have to hold
- Well balanced and easy to maneuver
Cons
- Hard-floor results can be inconsistent with the main cleaner head
- No battery display, only a warning light when charge is low
- Few accessories included and no automatic suction adjustment
