About the Samsung HW-QS700F 3.1.2ch Q-Series Soundbar with Dolby Atmos
The HW-QS700F is Samsung's mid-range Q-Series soundbar: a 3.1.2-channel bar with a wireless subwoofer, Dolby Atmos decoding and 345 watts of power. Up-firing drivers add height to film soundtracks, a dedicated centre channel keeps dialogue clear and the subwoofer handles the low end without a cable to the bar.
Its distinctive feature is Convertible Fit. A built-in gyro sensor detects whether the bar is lying flat on a stand or mounted on the wall and re-routes the height channels so the sound is aimed correctly either way. SpaceFit Sound Pro tunes the output to the room when paired with a compatible Samsung TV, and Q-Symphony lets the TV's own speakers play alongside the bar.
Connections are HDMI in, HDMI out with eARC and optical, plus Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3 for music streaming and control from the SmartThings app. The soundbar is about 116 cm wide, so it suits 50-inch TVs and larger.
What reviewers say
RTINGS (April 2026) rates the QS700F well for mixed use: boomy, punchy bass, a balanced midrange and a discrete centre channel, with highs slightly rolled off. Atmos gains from the height drivers but is not truly immersive, 5.1 content is downmixed because there are no rear speakers, and room correction only works with compatible Samsung TVs. What Hi-Fi gave four stars for its floor-shaking bass, clear vocals and flexible placement, but found it can turn harsh when pushed and that similarly priced rivals offer more precision and space. T3 awarded it a Platinum award, praising the Convertible Fit design; Techlicious scored it four out of five; Sound+Image called it excellent performance for the price.
