About the PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System
The PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System creates an invisible, circular boundary around your home without burying any wire. A transmitter plugged into an outlet sends out a constant radio signal that sets the stay zone, and your dog wears a receiver collar. The boundary is adjustable from 10 to 180 feet across and covers up to half an acre.
As your dog nears the edge, the collar sounds a warning tone, followed by static correction if they keep going. There are five adjustable correction levels plus a tone-only mode, and correction stops automatically after 30 seconds. The waterproof collar has a low-battery indicator and runs on an RFA-67 battery that lasts about one to two months. It's meant for dogs 8 lbs and up, and you can add more dogs by buying extra collars. Boundary flags mark the zone during training.
DIY setup typically takes one to two hours, and the system works best in flatter yards. Because the transmitter only needs an outlet, the system can also be moved to another location.
