About the BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One Multi-Surface Wet Dry Vac 1785A
The BISSELL CrossWave 1785A vacuums and washes floors at the same time, so you can pick up dry debris and wash in one pass instead of vacuuming first and mopping afterward. It's a corded upright, so there's no battery to run down, and the 25-foot cord gives decent reach between outlets.
A dual-action brush roll spinning at 3,000 RPM does the scrubbing, while BISSELL's two-tank system keeps clean water and formula separate from the dirty water it picks up, with a 28 oz clean-water tank. BISSELL lists it for tile, sealed wood, laminate, linoleum and pressed wood floors, plus rubber mats and area rugs, and it can also run in vacuum-only mode.
It suits busy homes with lots of hard flooring, pets or kids, where quick everyday clean-ups matter. BISSELL's 1785A listing includes two multi-surface brush rolls, an 8 oz bottle of multi-surface formula, a spare filter and a storage tray for rinsing and cleaning out the machine.
What reviewers say
Reviewers of the original corded CrossWave like that it vacuums and washes hard floors in one pass, is quick to set up, and helps lift pet hair and mud from rugs, while costing less than premium rivals. Common complaints are the cord getting in the way, a bulky, fairly heavy body that won't reach under furniture or into corners, floors that stay damp for a while after washing, and a dirty-water tank that can be messy to empty.
Pros
- Vacuums and washes hard floors in a single pass
- Good at lifting pet hair and mud from rugs
- Quick to set up and switch between modes
- Costs less than premium floor-cleaning rivals
Cons
- The cord gets in the way and limits range
- Bulky and fairly heavy, so it won't reach under furniture or into corners and you'll still want a regular vacuum
- Floors stay damp after washing, and emptying the dirty tank can be messy
