About the Sonos Arc Ultra Soundbar
Sonos Arc Ultra is a premium Dolby Atmos soundbar built to deliver immersive, room-filling sound from a single bar. It creates a 9.1.4 spatial audio experience, combining Sonos Sound Motion technology with seven tweeters and six midwoofers for deeper bass and a wider soundstage, while up-firing drivers add height to Atmos movies and shows.
Dialogue gets special attention. AI-powered Speech Enhancement picks out voices so quiet lines are easier to follow. Setup is quick with the included HDMI cable, which connects to your TV's HDMI eARC port, and day-to-day control comes from your TV remote, the Sonos app, touch controls on the top of the bar, Sonos Voice Control or Amazon Alexa. When the TV is off, it streams music over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Arc Ultra suits movie fans and everyday viewers who want big, immersive sound from one box, and it can be wall mounted for a clean look. To grow the system later, add a Sonos Sub and Era 300 rear speakers for full surround, or more Sonos speakers in other rooms.
What reviewers say
Reviewers widely praise the Arc Ultra's much-improved bass, wide and immersive Dolby Atmos presentation and clear, balanced dialogue, and see it as a big step up from the original Arc. The main drawbacks they raise are the lack of DTS:X support, a single HDMI port with no passthrough, and the high cost of building out a full system with a sub and rear speakers.
Pros
- Impressive bass for an all-in-one soundbar
- Wide, immersive Atmos soundstage with convincing height
- Clear, balanced dialogue
- Sleek design and straightforward setup
Cons
- No DTS:X support
- Only one HDMI port, with no passthrough
- Bar alone lacks true sub-bass rumble, and adding a Sub and rears gets expensive
