About the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) True Wireless Noise-Cancelling Earbuds – Black
Bose's second-generation QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are true wireless noise-cancelling earbuds for commuters, travelers and anyone who wants to shut out background noise. Each earbud carries four microphones, and Bose's Immersive Audio mode adds a more spacious, surround-style presentation when you want it.
Battery life is rated at up to 6 hours per charge (4 hours with Immersive Audio on), and the charging case holds up to 18 more hours. A 20-minute quick charge gives up to 2 hours of listening, and the case charges over USB-C. The earbuds connect with Bluetooth 5.3 and support SBC, AAC and aptX Adaptive with Snapdragon Sound on compatible phones.
The earbuds are rated IPX4 for sweat and splash resistance, although the case is not water-resistant. Settings and updates are handled through the Bose app on iOS and Android. This listing is the Black finish.
What reviewers say
RTINGS rates the noise cancelling on the 2nd Gen QC Ultra Earbuds as exceptional and finds them very comfortable and stable, thanks to three sizes of ear tips and stabilizers, which makes them a strong pick for travel. The main drawbacks are only average battery life on a single charge and the fact that this is a modest refresh, with some of its software improvements also coming to the cheaper first-generation model.
Pros
- Exceptional noise cancelling
- Comfortable, stable fit with multiple tip and stabilizer sizes
- Case adds about three extra charges
- CustomTune tailors sound to your ears
Cons
- Battery life is only average, and shorter with Immersive Audio
- Modest upgrade over the cheaper first generation
