About the Aviron Strong Series Rower
The Aviron Strong Series Rower is a connected rowing machine that pairs dual air and magnetic resistance with a 22-inch HD touchscreen. Instead of a basic metrics display, the screen runs Aviron's game-style workouts, races and guided sessions, and it pivots up to 270 degrees so you can follow off-rower training on the floor beside the machine.
It is built to fit a wide range of people, with a 507 lb maximum user weight, room for rowers up to roughly 6'8", a 20-inch-high seat and patented four-way adjustable foot plates. Resistance runs through cardio levels and dedicated strength levels, topping out at 100 lb, and the nylon belt drive is rated at around 60 decibels.
When you're done, the rower stands upright on a footprint of about 35 by 27 inches, though it needs roughly 83 inches of height to do so. It suits home rowers who want structured, entertaining sessions. Note that the full workout library requires an Aviron membership.
What reviewers say
Reviewers generally like how the Strong Series turns rowing into something closer to a game, and they credit its sturdy frame, very high weight capacity and easy-to-mount design. Several note it runs quieter than a traditional air rower, though the fan still makes some noise. The most common criticisms are that the games and most engaging content sit behind a monthly membership, the high price, and a large, heavy machine that needs a tall ceiling to store upright.
Pros
- Gamified workouts and races keep sessions engaging
- Sturdy frame with a very high user weight capacity
- Quieter than a traditional air rower
- Rotating screen and upright storage add flexibility
Cons
- Games and most content require an ongoing membership
- Bulky machine that needs a tall ceiling to store upright
- Priced in line with premium connected rowers
