About the Ashley Biscoe Power Reclining Sofa – Pewter
The Biscoe is Ashley's three-seat power reclining sofa in pewter, built around what the brand calls dual power: one-touch controls run the reclining mechanism and the adjustable Easy View headrest separately, so you can put your feet up and still see the TV. The zero-gravity mechanism stops anywhere in its travel, and each control panel has a zero-draw USB port that only uses power while something is charging.
The cover is Next-Gen Nuvella, Ashley's performance polyester that is soft, stain-resistant and cleans with mild soap and water, and the two accent pillows have zip-off covers that go in the washing machine. The frame is reinforced with a metal seat box, the cushions are attached high-resiliency foam wrapped in poly fiber, and the footrest extends into a longer ottoman.
It measures 88 in wide, 43 in deep and 42 in tall and needs about 5 in behind it to recline. A 32 in doorway is needed for delivery to your door, and the power cord is included.
What reviewers say
Ashley's site shows 4.8 out of 5 from 95 ratings, 84% of them five stars, and 92 of 93 reviewers would recommend it. The recurring praise is for a firm, supportive seat that helps backs and hips, solid construction, smooth power reclining with the adjustable headrest and footrest, and a fabric that holds up to pets. The main complaint is practical: the back sits high and the frame is exposed when reclined, which limits how close it can sit to a wall despite the quoted 5 in clearance. Independent reviews of this exact sofa are scarce; Walmart's 4.8 from 32 reviews is for the matching loveseat.
Pros
- Firm, supportive seating that reviewers say eases back and hip strain
- Smooth power recline with a separately adjustable headrest for TV viewing
- Nuvella fabric praised as pet-friendly and easy to keep clean
- Solid build; 92 of 93 Ashley reviewers would recommend it
Cons
- Tall rear profile and exposed frame when reclined, so it needs more room from the wall than expected
- Few independent reviews outside Ashley's own site
