About the Breville Barista Express Impress Espresso Machine
The Breville Barista Express Impress is a semi-automatic espresso machine with a built-in grinder, designed to take you from whole beans to a shot of espresso in under a minute. It builds on the Barista Express with Breville's Impress Puck System, which helps you get a consistent dose and tamp while leaving fewer grounds on the machine and counter.
The integrated conical burr grinder has 25 grind settings, and the machine works out the next dose based on your last grind. An assisted tamping system applies 22 lb (10 kg) of pressure and finishes with a 7° twist, a move borrowed from baristas. A 15-bar Italian pump and a Thermocoil heating system with PID temperature control handle the brewing, and you can adjust brew temperature and shot volume. A manual steam wand lets you texture milk for lattes and cappuccinos.
It suits beginners who want café-style drinks without dosing and tamping entirely by hand, while still leaving room to experiment. A 2-liter removable water tank with a water filter, an analog pressure gauge and an included 480 ml stainless steel milk jug complete the setup.
