About the DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo with DJI RC 2
The DJI Mini 4 Pro is an ultra-light folding drone that weighs less than 249 g, supplied here as a Fly More Combo with the DJI RC 2 controller. It is aimed at hobby pilots and travelers who want a small, easy-to-pack drone that still offers advanced sensing and strong video features.
Its headline feature is omnidirectional obstacle sensing: four fisheye vision sensors, binocular downward vision sensors, a 3D ToF sensor and an auxiliary light help the drone detect obstacles in every direction. APAS (Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems) plans a smooth path around obstacles while you film, Advanced RTH calculates a safe route back to the home point, and an AR view shows the return route and landing spot on screen.
For footage, the Mini 4 Pro records HDR video at up to 4K/60 fps and offers a Night mode designed to produce clean low-light shots straight from the drone, without heavy editing. It suits first-time buyers stepping up from a toy drone as well as experienced pilots looking for a lightweight travel companion.
What reviewers say
TechRadar, BGR, Digital Camera World and Videomaker see the Mini 4 Pro as a very capable sub-250 g drone, praising its omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, smooth handling, 4K slow-motion and D-Log M video options and solid battery life. Reviewers note that the camera hardware is largely carried over from the Mini 3 Pro, that it can struggle in strong wind, and that it is expensive for a small drone.
Pros
- Omnidirectional obstacle avoidance makes tight spaces easier to fly
- Sub-250 g weight is easy to pack for travel
- Smooth, stable flight and strong video features
- Good flight time per battery
Cons
- Camera sensor is largely unchanged from the Mini 3 Pro
- Not ideal in strong winds
- Expensive for a mini drone
