About the Ashley Stonemeade Sofa with Reversible Chaise
The Stonemeade sofa chaise from Signature Design by Ashley gives you a 92 in sofa with a chaise end that can go on either side: the seat cushion is reversible and the chaise section is a movable ottoman, so you can switch the layout whenever you rearrange the room. The cover is a soft polyester in taupe, with attached back cushions and two accent pillows included.
The frame is reinforced, the seat cushions are high-quality foam wrapped in poly fiber, and the seat sits on Ashley's platform foundation, which the company says resists sagging three times better than springs after 20,000 test cycles. The exposed feet have a faux wood finish.
Overall it is 92 in wide, 62 in deep with the chaise in place and 39 in tall, with a 22 in seat depth and 21 in seat height. It needs a 32 in doorway and is delivered to your door.
What reviewers say
With 4.9 out of 5 from 196 ratings on Ashley's site (88% five-star; 190 of 196 would recommend), this is one of the better-reviewed sofas in Ashley's range. Owners describe it as roomy yet apartment-friendly, with comfortable cushions, a sturdy frame, a soft tight-knit fabric and a seat depth and back height that support well; being able to swap the chaise side is a frequent plus. The few criticisms are color that varies from the photos and the chaise cushion shifting with use. A Homemakers reviewer called the nutmeg version firm yet comfortable and strong quality for the price, while an Overstock buyer liked the soft fabric and supportive cushions but marked it down for uneven stitching on the back cushions and a smell that lingered two weeks after delivery.
Pros
- Comfortable, supportive seat with a soft tight-knit fabric, by most accounts
- Chaise can be switched to either side, useful when rearranging a room
- Sturdy frame; roomy for its 92 in footprint
Cons
- Chaise seat cushion can shift with use because the ottoman section is loose
- Color may differ from the photos; one buyer reported uneven stitching and a lingering smell
