About the GoPro HERO13 Black Action Camera
The GoPro HERO13 Black is a compact, waterproof action camera for filming your adventures hands-free, from biking and surfing to travel and family days out. It records 5.3K video at up to 60 fps and 27 MP photos on a 1/1.9-inch sensor. 10-bit HLG HDR gives you richer color and HyperSmooth 6.0 stabilization keeps footage steady, and you can slow the action right down with 400 fps slow motion at 720p.
It's waterproof to 10 m, with a 1.4-inch front screen for framing selfies and a rear touchscreen for everything else. The 1900 mAh Enduro battery is rated for over 1.5 hours of recording at 4K30 and 5.3K30. Magnetic latch mounting works alongside metal mounting fingers, and the camera supports add-on lenses such as a macro lens.
Extras include GPS, Wi-Fi 6, USB-C, voice control, wireless audio, webcam mode, TimeWarp 3.0 and night effects such as light trails, light painting and star trails. It suits action-sports fans, vloggers and content creators who want a tough camera they can mount almost anywhere.
What reviewers say
Reviewers generally rate the HERO13 Black highly for detailed daytime video, excellent stabilization and the flexibility of its lens mods and magnetic mounting. One long-term tester also found it stood up well to knocks. The main criticisms are weaker low-light footage, battery life and screens that trail rival DJI cameras, and only modest upgrades over the HERO12 Black.
Pros
- Detailed, vibrant footage in good light
- Excellent stabilization
- Versatile lens mod and magnetic mounting options
- Rugged build that holds up to knocks
Cons
- Noisy, grainy footage in low light
- Battery life and screens trail some rivals
- Only a small step up from the HERO12 Black
