The Galaxy S26 is the compact model in Samsung's 2026 flagship line, with a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that runs at up to 120Hz and peaks at 2,600 nits, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. At 7.2 mm thick and 167 g it is one of the easier flagships to use one-handed.
US models run Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, on Android 16 with One UI 8.5 and Samsung's Galaxy AI features. Samsung promises seven years of OS and security updates. The 4,300mAh battery is up from 4,000mAh in the S25 and supports 25W wired, 15W wireless (Qi2 ready) and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
The cameras are a 50MP main with optical stabilisation, a 12MP ultrawide and a 10MP 3x telephoto, with a 12MP front camera and video up to 8K. The phone is IP68 rated for water and dust. This is the unlocked version, not tied to a carrier, and no charger is included in the box.

Reviewers agree the S26 is a fast, well-built compact flagship but a modest upgrade. Android Central and TechRadar found no slowdowns from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, GSMArena noted a real battery-life gain from the 4,300mAh cell, SamMobile liked the one-handed size and seven years of updates, and Consumer Reports rated its balance of speed, battery life and camera quality highly. Criticisms centre on 25W charging and the lack of Qi2 magnets (TechRadar), camera hardware that is largely carried over and behind rivals (Android Central, GSMArena), and a higher price for small changes. Amateur Photographer disagrees on the camera, calling it Samsung's best small camera phone, though it notes the dedicated Night mode has gone.
