About the Fujifilm X-T5 Mirrorless Camera with XF18-55mm Lens – Black
The Fujifilm X-T5 is an APS-C mirrorless camera that pairs a 40.2-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor with the X-Processor 5, all in a compact, classic-styled body. This kit includes the XF18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS zoom, a versatile everyday lens covering a 27-84mm equivalent range with optical stabilization.
The body adds 5-axis in-body image stabilization rated up to 7 stops, bursts of up to 15 fps with the mechanical shutter (20 fps electronic, with a crop) and video up to 6.2K at 30p or 4K at 60p. A 3.69-million-dot OLED viewfinder and a 3-inch touchscreen that tilts in three directions make it easy to frame at eye level, from the waist or in portrait orientation. The NP-W235 battery is rated for approximately 580 frames per charge in Normal mode.
The X-T5 suits enthusiasts who shoot landscapes, travel, street and portraits, want plenty of resolution for cropping, and prefer hands-on physical controls over digging through menus.
What reviewers say
RTINGS, Tom's Guide and Digital Camera World praise the X-T5 for highly detailed 40MP images, impressive dynamic range for APS-C, effective stabilization, strong battery life for a mirrorless camera and satisfying dial-based handling. The most common criticisms are a small buffer for long bursts, a rear screen that tilts rather than fully flipping out, a fairly small grip, and autofocus that occasionally misses in eye-tracking mode.
Pros
- Very detailed 40MP images with room to crop
- Effective in-body image stabilization
- Good battery life for a mirrorless camera
- Classic dials make settings quick to change
Cons
- Buffer fills quickly during long bursts
- Tilting screen is less flexible for vlogging than a fully articulating one
- Small grip can feel cramped with larger lenses
