About the Insta360 X6 8K 360 Action Camera – Black
The Insta360 X6 is a 360-degree action camera that records the whole scene around you at up to 8K. Because it captures in every direction at once, you don't have to aim carefully while you're filming. You can decide how to frame each shot afterward, or keep the full sphere for immersive viewing.
It suits travelers, cyclists, skiers, vloggers and social creators who want one camera that covers everything around them. Night Mode helps when the light drops, and the camera supports streaming. It also has 47 GB of built-in storage for your footage.
This listing is the black X6, sold as a bundle. It makes sense if you want a step up from a regular action camera and like having the freedom to reframe your footage after a ride, hike or trip.
What reviewers say
Reviewers broadly see the X6 as a clear step up for Insta360's 360 range. They praise its sharper, richer footage from larger sensors, the Dolby Vision and 10-bit log options, and a shorter body with a bright OLED screen. The main complaints are the premium price, an app that crashed or misbehaved for some testers, and familiar 360-camera trade-offs such as occasional stitch lines and very large files.
Pros
- Noticeably better image quality than the previous X5, including in low light
- Dolby Vision and 10-bit log shooting for people who like to color grade
- Shorter, more compact body with a bright, clear OLED screen
- Good battery endurance without overheating in testing
Cons
- Expensive compared with rival 360 cameras
- Some testers ran into app crashes and bugs
- Stitch lines can still show, files are large, and reframed footage ends up at roughly 4K
