About the Apple iPad Air 13-inch (M4) Wi-Fi 128GB – Blue
The 13-inch iPad Air with the M4 chip is a big-screen tablet in a slim, light design. Its 13-inch Liquid Retina display runs at 2732 x 2048 with 600 nits of brightness, P3 wide color, True Tone and an antireflective coating, giving plenty of room for split-screen multitasking, drawing and watching video.
Apple's M4 chip, with an 8-core CPU, 9-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine, is paired with 12GB of unified memory and supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing for more demanding apps and games. The 12MP Center Stage front camera handles video calls, the 12MP Wide rear camera records 4K video, and Touch ID is built into the top button. USB-C supports charging, external displays and data transfer at up to 10Gb/s, while Apple's N1 chip brings Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.
At 1.36 pounds and 6.1 mm thin, it works with Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB-C), making it a good fit for students, note-takers, artists and anyone who wants a larger canvas without moving up to an iPad Pro.
What reviewers say
TechRadar, Cult of Mac and Business Today praise the M4 iPad Air for its strong performance, extra memory and improved wireless, describing it as better value than ever and a step closer to the iPad Pro. The main criticisms are that the design is unchanged from the previous model and the display is still a 60Hz LCD rather than the OLED, ProMotion screen found on the Pro.
Pros
- Fast M4 performance with more memory than the previous Air
- Large 13-inch screen suits multitasking and drawing
- Wi-Fi 7 and improved connectivity
- Strong value next to the iPad Pro
Cons
- 60Hz LCD with no ProMotion or OLED
- Design largely unchanged from the M3 model
- Cameras carry over unchanged from the previous model
