About the Apple iPad Pro 11-inch (M5) Wi-Fi 256GB
This is the 11-inch iPad Pro with the Apple M5 chip, in the Wi-Fi model with 256GB of storage and the standard glass display. In this configuration the M5 has a 9-core CPU, a 10-core GPU with Neural Accelerators and hardware-accelerated ray tracing, a 16-core Neural Engine and 12GB of unified memory with 153GB/s of memory bandwidth. Apple says the iPad Pro with M5 delivers up to 3.5x the AI performance of the iPad Pro with M4, and it supports Apple Intelligence.
The 11-inch Ultra Retina XDR display uses Tandem OLED technology at 2420 x 1668 resolution (264 ppi), with ProMotion adaptive refresh rates from 10Hz to 120Hz, P3 wide color and True Tone. It reaches 1000 nits for SDR and full-screen XDR content and up to 1600 nits peak for HDR content, with a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio and an antireflective coating. It works with Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB-C), including Apple Pencil hover.
Wireless connectivity comes from Apple's N1 chip, with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread; this Wi-Fi model has no cellular modem. The Thunderbolt / USB 4 port handles charging, data transfers at up to 40Gb/s and one external display at up to 6K at 60Hz or 5K at 120Hz. Face ID, a 12MP Wide rear camera, a LiDAR Scanner, a 12MP landscape Center Stage front camera, four speakers and a studio-quality four-mic array are built in.
Apple rates battery life at up to 10 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi or watching video, and the iPad Pro can charge to about 50% in around 30 minutes with Apple's 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max (sold separately). The Wi-Fi model measures 9.83 x 6.99 x 0.21 inches and weighs 0.98 pound. A 20W USB-C power adapter and a 1-meter USB-C charge cable come in the box.
What reviewers say
Reviewers agree the M5 iPad Pro is the most capable iPad yet, even though its design is unchanged from the M4 model. TechRadar, which tested the 11-inch version, said the M5 chip handles multitasking, creative apps and even AAA games with ease and called it the ultimate pro tablet for power users. Tom's Guide praised its strong M5 performance, sturdy and lightweight design, OLED panel, fast Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and long battery life. CNET gave it 8.8 out of 10 and an Editors' Choice award, citing the M5 processor, the OLED display and improved iPadOS multitasking. The main criticisms are that it isn't a major upgrade over the M4 model, that the keyboard and Apple Pencil are sold separately, and that iPadOS still lacks some pro tools found on a Mac.

- Fast M5 performance for multitasking, creative apps and demanding games (TechRadar, Tom's Guide)
- Vibrant, bright Tandem OLED display (TechRadar, CNET)

- 256GB and 512GB models get a 9-core CPU and 12GB of memory; 1TB and 2TB models get 10 cores and 16GB
- iPadOS still lacks some pro tools found on Macs (CNET)
- Limited color options: Silver or Space Black only (TechRadar)
