About the DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo with DJI RC 2
The DJI Mini 5 Pro is a foldable, palm-sized camera drone built around a 1-inch 50MP CMOS sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It records 4K/60fps HDR video with up to 14 stops of dynamic range, and a 48mm Med-Tele mode with 2x zoom helps subjects stand out in the frame. The gimbal rotates through 225°, so you can switch to true vertical shooting for social clips.
Safety and tracking are a big part of the package. Omnidirectional obstacle sensing works even at night, an improved ActiveTrack 360° follows moving subjects, and return-to-home is built in. Flight time is rated at up to 36 minutes, and 42GB of internal storage lets you save footage straight to the drone.
This Fly More Combo pairs the drone with the DJI RC 2 controller, which has its own built-in screen, plus a shoulder bag to carry everything. It's listed as beginner-friendly, but it's really aimed at content creators and travelers who want high-quality aerial photos and video from a very light drone that folds down small enough for a backpack.
What reviewers say
Reviewers broadly agree the Mini 5 Pro raises the bar for small drones, with the 1-inch camera producing standout footage for its size, including in low light. The omnidirectional obstacle sensing (with forward LiDAR) and the rotating camera also earn praise. The most common criticisms are real-world flight times that fall short of the rated figure and a light frame that some testers found gets pushed around in gusty wind.
Pros
- 1-inch sensor delivers strong image quality and clean low-light footage for a mini drone
- Omnidirectional obstacle sensing with forward LiDAR adds confidence, especially in dim conditions
- Rotating gimbal makes vertical video for social media easy
- Compact, foldable design that is easy to travel with
Cons
- Real-world flight times in testing fall short of the rated 36 minutes
- Its light frame is more affected by gusty wind than larger drones
- The 48mm mode is a crop of the main camera and can't match a dedicated telephoto lens for detail
