The Amazon Echo Show 5 (3rd Gen) is a compact Alexa smart display with a 5.5-inch screen, sized to sit on a nightstand, bedside table or desk. Ask Alexa to play music, set alarms or start a video call, and use the screen to control compatible smart home devices such as lights and thermostats without getting up.
It works well as a smart alarm clock by the bed and as a small control point for a connected home. If you have a compatible video doorbell, you can see who is at the front door right on the display, and the built-in 2 MP camera lets you check in on family or pets. Routines let you bundle actions together, so a single routine can turn on Do Not Disturb, adjust the lights and start a playlist.
Sound comes from a 1.75-inch rear-facing speaker, and the device connects over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. For younger users, it supports the Amazon Kids setting. It is designed for indoor use only.
