About the Shark AI Ultra 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Mop with Self-Empty Base (Black)
The Shark AI Ultra 2-in-1 is a robot vacuum that also sonic-mops hard floors in the same run, then empties its own dustbin into a bagless base. It's built for homes with a mix of carpet and hard flooring, and with pets in mind: a self-cleaning brushroll deals with hair, and HEPA filtration in the base holds onto dust and allergens.
To find its way around, it uses 360° LiDAR to map your home in detail, so it can get around on its own and steer around objects whether the lights are on or off. In the SharkClean app you can send it to specific areas, set cleaning schedules, and mark carpet zones or no-go zones so it only cleans where you want.
Shark's Matrix Clean mode has the robot work over an area in a grid pattern from several directions for a more thorough pass, while CleanEdge focuses on corners and edges. If you want one machine that vacuums, mops and handles emptying with little day-to-day attention, this is designed for that job.
What reviewers say
Reviewers generally rate this Shark's vacuuming highly, especially on pet hair, and like that the self-emptying base is bagless, so there are no bags to buy. Edge cleaning and quiet running also get praise. The mopping is widely seen as suitable only for light upkeep, and opinions on the SharkClean app range from excellent to glitchy.
Pros
- Strong vacuuming that handles pet hair well
- Bagless self-emptying base, so no replacement bags
- Good edge cleaning and fairly quiet operation
- Low-maintenance once it's set up
Cons
- Mopping only suits light cleaning, and the pad needs cleaning and refilling by hand
- App experience is inconsistent, with some reviewers finding it glitchy or short on features
- Docking can be imprecise and the power cable is short
