About the Roborock Saros Z70 Robot Vacuum and Mop with OmniGrip Mechanical Arm
The Roborock Saros Z70 is a robot vacuum and mop with a fold-out mechanical arm. Called OmniGrip, the arm stays tucked inside the robot when idle and extends during a clean to pick up light items such as socks, sandals, crumpled tissues and towels under 300 g, clearing them so the robot can clean the floor underneath. Arm features are off by default; you turn them on in the Roborock app and can define up to 50 custom objects.
It is also a fully featured cleaner. Roborock rates suction at 22,000 Pa, the dual all-rubber brushes are designed to resist hair tangles, and the StarSight system with dual cameras recognizes 108 types of obstacles. At 3.14 inches tall it can slip under a lot of furniture, and it climbs double-layer thresholds up to about 4 cm.
The Multifunctional Dock 4.0 handles most of the upkeep: it empties the dustbin for up to 60 days, washes the mops with water up to 80°C (176°F), dries them with 55°C (131°F) warm air, refills the robot's water tank and dispenses detergent automatically. It suits tech fans and busy households who want cleaning that is as hands-off as possible.
What reviewers say
Reviewers agree the Saros Z70 is a strong robot vacuum and an excellent mopper, with a capable, low-maintenance dock, good obstacle avoidance and a slim body that reaches under furniture. The OmniGrip arm is the sticking point: testers found it novel but inconsistent and limited to a short list of item types, and several felt it did not justify the original price premium.
Pros
- Excellent mopping performance
- Slim profile reaches under low furniture
- Dock handles hot-water mop washing, drying and emptying
- Strong obstacle avoidance in most reviewers' tests
Cons
- Robotic arm is hit-or-miss and handles only a few item types
- Lab tests measured weaker suction and deep-carpet cleaning than the specs suggest
- Small onboard dustbin
