About the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wired Gaming Headset, Black/Red
The HyperX Cloud Alpha is a wired gaming headset built around 50mm dual-chamber drivers. They separate the bass from the mids and highs, which helps keep in-game audio smoother and less distorted. It is designed to work with PC, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and other devices that have a 3.5mm port.
Comfort comes from over-ear cushions made of HyperX memory foam wrapped in soft leatherette, mounted on a sturdy aluminum frame. The braided cable detaches and has in-line controls, so you can change the volume or mute the mic without leaving the game.
The noise-cancelling microphone also detaches, so you can switch from team chat to music without the mic in the way. The headset is Discord and TeamSpeak certified for clear voice chat. It suits gamers who want a simple plug-in headset that moves between platforms, finished in black and red.
What reviewers say
Reviewers generally rate the Cloud Alpha as a strong wired headset for the money, highlighting its comfortable memory foam fit, sturdy build and clear sound with little distortion. The microphone draws the most criticism, with some testers noting it picks up background noise, and it has no companion software or virtual surround. A few reviewers also found the ear cups snug for larger ears.

- Detachable cable and mic, and works with most consoles and PCs
Cons
- Microphone is fine for chat but picks up background noise
- No companion software, EQ or virtual surround
- Ear cups can feel snug for people with larger ears
