About the LG WashTower Single-Unit Washer & Dryer (4.5 cu ft / 7.4 cu ft)
The LG WashTower is a full-size washer and dryer built as a single unit: a 4.5 cu ft front load washer below, a 7.4 cu ft electric dryer above, and one Center Control panel between them at a comfortable height, so there is no reaching up to set the dryer. At 27 in wide, 30 3/8 in deep and 74 3/8 in tall it takes the floor space of one machine and stands shorter than a stacked pair.
The washer has six programs including Normal, Bedding, Heavy Duty and Speed Wash, a steam option, a sanitary setting, five temperatures and a 1,300 rpm spin that cuts drying time. The dryer uses Sensor Dry to end cycles when the load is dry, offers six programs and five dryness levels, and Smart Pairing lets the washer tell the dryer which cycle to run. Wi-Fi and the ThinQ app add remote start and alerts.
It is ENERGY STAR certified and needs a 240 V dryer outlet, a 120 V outlet, water hook-ups and an exhaust vent, plus ceiling clearance above 74 3/8 in. Delivery is to the door.

Best Buy shoppers rate the WashTower 4.6 out of 5 across more than a thousand reviews, praising the quiet running, the easy-to-reach control panel and how much it fits, including comforters and king-size quilts, in a footprint that frees up laundry-room space. Reviewed.com lab-tested the step-up WKEX200HBA, which shares the drums and layout: the washer beat the average for stain removal on every cycle except Delicates and finished a Normal load in about 35 minutes, drying was solid rather than exceptional, and the Delicates cycle on both sides was weak. Yale Appliance notes the 74 3/8 in height versus about 80 in for a stacked pair and the 30 in depth that suits closets, but points out the washer door cannot be reversed. The main owner complaints are the price and occasional dryer faults.
