The DeWalt DWS780 is a 12-inch double bevel sliding compound miter saw driven by a 15-amp motor at 3,800 RPM. Its XPS crosscut positioning system shows the cut line with no calibration needed, and dual horizontal steel rails with linear ball bearings keep the slide accurate while holding the saw's footprint compact.
It's built for DIYers and woodworkers who handle everything from dimensional lumber to trim. The back fence design lets it cut 2x16 lumber at 90 degrees and 2x12 at 45, while tall sliding fences support crown molding up to 7-1/2 inches nested and base molding up to 6-3/4 inches standing vertically, then slide out of the way for bevel cuts.
Miters run 60 degrees right and 50 degrees left, set by a stainless steel detent plate with 10 positive stops and a cam lock. DeWalt says the dust collection system captures more than 75% of dust, and the saw has an electric brake. A 60-tooth carbide blade and dust bag are included, and at 56 pounds it's manageable to move and store.
