About the DJI Mini 3 Camera Drone
The DJI Mini 3 Fly More Combo pairs DJI's compact, foldable Mini 3 drone with a remote controller that has its own HD display, giving beginners a ready-to-fly package. The drone weighs under 249 g and folds to 148 x 90 x 62 mm, so it fits easily in a bag for hikes, beach days and longer trips.
The camera uses a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, dual native ISO and chip-level HDR to record 4K HDR video and 12 MP stills with an 82.1° field of view. A gimbal keeps footage steady and supports True Vertical Shooting, giving you portrait-format clips for social media without cropping.
Flight time is rated at up to 38 minutes per battery and the radio link reaches up to 10 km. The drone is rated to handle Level 5 winds (38 kph). GPS, Return to Home and automatic takeoff and landing help newer pilots stay in control. It's a good match for travelers and hobbyists who want to capture aerial photos and video without carrying a large drone.
What reviewers say
Reviewers see the Mini 3 as a strong-value entry-level drone, praising its long flight time, very portable size, easy handling and image quality that holds up well against pricier models. The compromises they point out are the lack of obstacle-avoidance sensors and subject-tracking modes, 12MP stills that leave little room for cropping, and 4K video limited to 30fps.
Pros
- Long flight time per battery
- Light, foldable and easy to pack
- Easy for beginners to fly
- Good 4K HDR image quality for the price
Cons
- No obstacle-avoidance sensors
- No ActiveTrack-style subject following
- 4K tops out at 30fps and 12MP stills limit cropping
