About the Samsung 65" M80H Mini LED 4K Vision AI Smart TV (2026)
The M80H is Samsung's entry into Mini LED for 2026, sitting above the M70H and below the Neo QLED range. It is a 65-inch 4K set with Samsung's NQ4 AI Gen2 processor, which upscales lower-resolution content and runs the Vision AI features in Tizen, including Auto HDR Remastering for standard-dynamic-range programmes.
It is unusually well specified for gaming at this level: a 144Hz panel with Motion Xcelerator 144Hz, three HDMI inputs that all accept 4K at 144Hz, eARC, VRR with AMD FreeSync Premium, ALLM, HGiG and Samsung's Game Bar. HDR10+ is supported, though there is no Dolby Vision.
Sound is a 20W two-channel system with Object Tracking Sound Lite, Q-Symphony for pairing with a Samsung soundbar and Adaptive Sound+. Tizen includes Samsung TV Plus, Gaming Hub, AirPlay and Google Cast, Bixby and Alexa voice control, and the bezel-less MetalStream design is about 3 inches deep without the stand.
What reviewers say
Early reviews are lukewarm. RTINGS, which tested the 65-inch in June 2026, calls the M80H a mediocre TV: despite the Mini LED branding there is no local dimming, so contrast is weak and dark-room viewing suffers, and HDR brightness is low. It does credit a strong feature set for an entry-level set, with HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on all three inputs, a 144Hz panel and low input lag. TV Reviews reaches the same conclusion, praising the gaming features, SDR colour accuracy and Tizen's range of apps, while listing washed-out dark scenes, poor reflection handling, motion blur in fast games, basic audio and the lack of Dolby Vision as drawbacks. Both suggest buyers who care about contrast and HDR look at Samsung's QN70H or QN80H instead.
Pros
- Three HDMI inputs with 4K 144Hz, VRR and low input lag: strong gaming features for the price
- Accurate SDR colour out of the box
- Full Tizen smart platform with Vision AI, Gaming Hub, AirPlay and Google Cast
Cons
- No true local dimming despite Mini LED branding: greyish blacks and weak contrast in dark rooms
- Limited HDR brightness and no Dolby Vision support
- Poor reflection handling and basic 20W audio
