About the Apple Studio Display 27-inch 5K (2026) – Standard Glass, VESA Mount Adapter (MFEY4LL/A)
Apple's Studio Display is a 27-inch 5K Retina monitor (5120 x 2880 at 218 ppi) designed to pair with Macs and supported iPads. It reaches 600 nits of brightness, shows a billion colors with P3 wide color and True Tone, and includes reference modes for color-sensitive work. This configuration (MFEY4LL/A) has the standard glass finish and ships with a VESA mount adapter instead of a stand, so it is meant for a monitor arm or wall mount that fits the 100 x 100 mm VESA pattern.
Built in are a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View, a studio-quality three-mic array and a six-speaker system with force-cancelling woofers and Spatial Audio support, so video calls and music do not need extra gear.
Connectivity is built around Thunderbolt 5: the upstream port charges a connected laptop at up to 96W, a downstream Thunderbolt 5 port handles accessories or daisy-chaining another display, and two USB-C ports run at up to 10Gb/s. A 1 m Thunderbolt 5 Pro cable is included. It suits Mac users who want a clean, single-cable desk setup.
What reviewers say
PCMag's review of the 2026 Studio Display praised its sharp 5K panel, full sRGB and DCI-P3 color coverage, high brightness for an IPS screen, new Thunderbolt 5 ports with daisy-chaining, refined design and surprisingly strong audio for a monitor. Its main criticisms were a high price for a 27-inch, 60Hz screen, no HDR support and only a one-year limited warranty.
Pros
- Very sharp 5K resolution
- Full sRGB and DCI-P3 color coverage
- Thunderbolt 5 with daisy-chaining
- Impressive built-in speakers
Cons
- High price for the size and features
- No HDR support
- Only a one-year limited warranty
