About the Acer Nitro V 16S Gaming Laptop – Intel Core 7 240H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 16" WUXGA 180Hz IPS, Black
The Acer Nitro V 16S (ANV16S-71) is a 16-inch gaming laptop built around Intel's Core 7 240H processor with dedicated NVIDIA graphics. This configuration pairs the processor with 16GB of DDR5 memory, a 1TB solid-state drive and a 16-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) IPS display with a 180Hz refresh rate, and it runs Windows 11. It suits players who want a 16-inch gaming laptop that also works as an everyday machine for school, work and streaming.
The Core 7 240H has 10 cores (6 performance and 4 efficient) and 16 threads, with a 2.5GHz base clock and turbo speeds up to 5.2GHz. The 16:10 display uses a matte ComfyView IPS panel, and the RGB backlit keyboard includes a numeric keypad and a key for Acer's NitroSense software, which handles performance modes and fan settings. The chassis measures about 14.1 x 10.4 inches, is 0.55 inches thick at the front and 0.79 inches at the rear, and weighs about 4.63 pounds.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, three USB Type-A ports (one USB 3.2 Gen 1 and two USB 3.2 Gen 2), a USB Type-C port, a microSD card reader and an audio jack. Power comes from a 76Wh lithium-ion battery.

What reviewers say
Two Russian tech publications, 3DNews and Hi-Tech Mail, reviewed Nitro V 16S models with the same Core 7 240H processor, paired with an RTX 5060, 32GB of RAM and a 2560 x 1600 180Hz screen. Both liked the build quality (3DNews notes an aluminum lid and base), the easy upgrades thanks to user-replaceable RAM and a free M.2 slot, and the port selection. 3DNews measured long battery life in light use and found the laptop quiet and cool in its Balanced and Quiet modes, but loud and hot in Turbo mode. Hi-Tech Mail found the fans loud while gaming and the speakers weak. Both noted that the most demanding games need DLSS or lower settings at native resolution. Their display findings refer to the higher-resolution panel, not the 1920 x 1200 screen on this model.
Pros
- Solid build; 3DNews notes an aluminum lid and base
- Easy to upgrade, with user-replaceable RAM and a free M.2 SSD slot
- Good port selection, including HDMI 2.1, Ethernet and microSD
- Quiet and cool in Balanced and Quiet modes (3DNews)
- Long battery life in light use in 3DNews testing
- Quiet, comfortable RGB keyboard (Hi-Tech Mail)
Cons
- Loud fans in Turbo mode and while gaming
- CPU reached 100°C in Turbo mode in 3DNews testing
- Weak built-in speakers (Hi-Tech Mail)
- Demanding games need DLSS or lower settings at native resolution
- Small touchpad and narrow numeric keypad keys
