Reviewers call the Series 12 a solid, refined update. T3 and Tom's Guide praise the more frequent heart-rate readings and the new readiness score, and faster charging with the new charger is seen as the most practical upgrade. Macworld also saw inconsistent battery life and charging, occasional sluggishness and a few resets, so recent owners may not need to upgrade.
