About the XGIMI Horizon Pro 4K Projector
The XGIMI Horizon Pro is an all-in-one home projector that uses DLP technology to project a 4K (3840 x 2160) picture. It is rated at 1,500 lumens and has built-in Harman Kardon speakers, so you can set it on a table, aim it at a wall or screen and start watching without adding a separate sound system.
XGIMI designed it to take the effort out of setup, with intelligent imaging features that help line up and fine-tune the picture when you move it to a new room. It works with Google Assistant for voice control, and it connects over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, USB and Ethernet, so it is easy to hook up a streaming stick, console or media player.
At 6.4 pounds, it is light enough to move from room to room. It suits people who want a big-screen picture in a dim room without a complicated home-theater install.
What reviewers say
Reviewers like how easy the Horizon Pro is to live with: automatic focus, keystone and obstacle avoidance get the picture lined up quickly, and Tom's Guide found it bright and colorful for its price as an all-in-one package. RTINGS was tougher on picture quality, citing low contrast and raised blacks, and the built-in speakers are fine for casual viewing but not a home-theater replacement. RTINGS also measured high input lag, though Tom's Guide recorded much lower lag in game mode.
Pros
- Quick automatic setup with autofocus, keystone and obstacle avoidance
- All-in-one design with a built-in smart platform and speakers
- Bright enough for dim rooms, with even brightness across the image
- Light enough to move between rooms
Cons
- Low contrast, so blacks look gray in dark scenes
- Limited to 60Hz for gaming, and RTINGS measured high input lag
- Fixed lens with no optical zoom or lens shift
