About the Apple MacBook Air (M5)
This MacBook Air puts Apple's M5 chip into a slim 13-inch laptop for everyday work, study and creative tasks. The configuration has a 10-core CPU, an 8-core GPU, 16GB of unified memory and a 512GB SSD, finished in Silver.
The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display has a 2560 x 1664 resolution, up to 500 nits of brightness and True Tone to adapt to the room's lighting. Apple rates the battery for up to 18 hours of video streaming or 15 hours of wireless web browsing, and the whole laptop weighs 2.7 pounds. A 12MP Center Stage camera and a four-speaker system help with video calls, and the backlit Magic Keyboard includes Touch ID.
It charges over MagSafe 3 and also has two Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports, a headphone jack, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, with support for up to two external displays. It's a good match for students, home users and remote workers who want a light Mac that lasts through the day.

Reviewers treat the M5 MacBook Air as a refinement rather than a redesign. It is a little faster than the M4 model and keeps the slim, light design and long battery life. PCMag renewed its Editors' Choice award, and Tom's Hardware calls it the Mac most people should buy. Criticisms center on the familiar design and its webcam notch, the lack of an OLED screen, and a higher price than earlier generations.
